Stills (Beta)
Beta Feature
The stills feature is currently in beta and available by request only. To have this feature enabled for your project, please reach out through our live chat support (click the chat icon in the bottom right corner) or email us at odailies@ottomatic.io.
The stills feature in o/DAILIES allows dailies managers to share high-quality frame grabs extracted from tools like Silverstack or DaVinci Resolve.
Uploading Stills
_still
First, extract your still images using tools like Silverstack or DaVinci Resolve. Then place them in the _still
folder of your project directory using one of these naming patterns:
ClipName.jpg # Basic naming
ClipName-FrameNumber.jpg # With frame number
ClipName-UniqueIdentifier.jpg # With custom identifier
Where:
- ClipName
must exactly match an existing clip in your project
- -FrameNumber
or -UniqueIdentifier
helps identify the specific frame
Viewing and Managing Stills
Stills are automatically associated with their source clips in the database. Users with the "Stills" permission can:
- View all stills in a dedicated stills view
- Download original stills
- Organize stills alongside their source clips
Switching Between Video and Still Mode
Users can easily toggle between video clips and stills viewing:
- In the bin view, locate the mode toggle button in the toolbar
- Click the toggle button to switch between Video Mode videocam and Still Mode photo_camera
- The interface will update to reflect the current mode, with different filtering and sorting options available in each mode
Permission Requirements
To access the stills feature:
- The project must have the "Stills" add-on activated (request this beta feature via live chat or email to odailies@ottomatic.io)
- Users must be granted the "Stills" permission by a dailies manager
- To download original stills, users must also have the "Download" permission
