Reports
The Reports page sums up a project's shooting days: what each day recorded, how long it runs and how much it takes on disk. It is built from your Silverstack Link and needs no setup.
Reports is available to users with the metadata permission. It is not available in Mountain Mode.
What is shown
- Total: clip count, running time and size of the whole project.
- One entry per shooting day, newest first, with the day's clip count, running time and size. Open a day to see its cards.
- Camera cards first, in name order: clip count, running time and size of each.
- Sound cards after the camera cards, in name order: number of takes, running time and size of each.
A day with only sound still gets its own entry.
What is not shown
- Individual sound takes. Sound is reported per card only and never appears as a clip, in search, in bins or in exports. See Sound for what o/DAILIES knows about sound.
- Anything the Silverstack Link leaves out: folders starting with
_exclude_or_ignore_,Transcoded Clips, and clips or sound takes taggedignore. - Sound takes the recorder discarded: takes marked false (in a
FALSETAKESfolder) or deleted (in aTRASHfolder) on the recorder.
How days and cards are formed
- A day is the first folder under
Libraryin Silverstack, for example20240716_D01. - A card is the folder a clip or sound take is filed in, for example
A001, orCF1inLibrary/20240716_D01/SOUND/CF1. A sound card name reused on another day (the sameCF1back in the recorder) is listed on each day separately. - Clips uploaded without a Silverstack library folder are grouped under
---, by their reel name.
How totals are calculated
| Figure | Camera cards | Sound cards |
|---|---|---|
| Clip count | Counted | Shown on the sound card only, as takes |
| Running time | Counted | Shown on the sound card only |
| Size | Counted | Counted |
- Clip count of a day and of the project is camera clips only. Each sound card shows its own count of takes.
- A take is one recording, however many files the recorder wrote for it: a polyphonic file, one mono file per track, or (on recorders that write one) a separate mix file next to the track files. A take offloaded twice, from a card that was not erased between days, counts once, on the day it was first offloaded.
- Running time of a day and of the project is camera footage only. A sound recorder usually rolls longer than the cameras, so adding sound would count the same time twice. Each sound card shows its own running time, counting each take once however many files it has.
- Size of a day is everything recorded that day: camera cards plus sound cards. The project size is the sum of all days. A camera clip's size includes its companion files where Silverstack records them. A take's size counts every one of its files, and a file copied to several destinations counts once.
Missing uploads
On paid projects, admins see a warning on any camera card with clips that have no uploaded video. Tap the warning to list those clips. Sound cards never show this warning, because sound is not uploaded.
